Ramadan: Tinubu doing everything possible to reduce hardship – SGF, Akume

As Muslim believers embark on the sacred month of Ramadan, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, reassured that President Bola Tinubu is actively working to alleviate the challenges faced by the people since the elimination of the fuel subsidy.

In a congratulatory message to Muslims in Nigeria, the SGF urged the faithful to observe the holy month of Ramadan in line with the teachings of the Prophet, S.A.W, as outlined in the Holy Qur’an. 

He underscored the importance of using this fasting period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity, and stability in the nation.

The SGF message read thus, “The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, on behalf of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), expresses best wishes to the Muslim faithful on the sighting of the moon which signals the commencement of the month-long Ramadan fast.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing everything in his capacity to reduce the burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidy which advertently affected the cost of living.

“I urge the Muslim faithful to observe the holy month of Ramadan in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet (S.A.W) as enshrined in the Holy Qur’an including the need to use the occasion of the fast to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the nation.

” I wish all Muslim faithful a successful fasting season!”.
