Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has submitted the nomination of Mr. Chijioke Okonkwo to the state House of Assembly for approval as the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Additionally, the names of Mr. Chinedum Ukabara, Mr. Chuka Akunne, and Mr. Ruben Okoye have been presented to the assembly for confirmation as commissioners in the commission.
These nominations were detailed in a letter presented to the House, which Speaker Chief Uche Ugwu read during the emergency plenary on Monday.
The Speaker has instructed the nominees to provide 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the House clerk and scheduled their appearance before the Assembly on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, for the screening and confirmation process.
Furthermore, during the plenary, the House initiated the first reading of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Amendment Bill.
