Police storm criminal hideouts, arrest 18 street urchins In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended 18 street urchins for allegedly conspiring to carry out attacks on innocent members of the public. 

The State Police Commissioner, Mr Usaini Gumel, revealed this information in an interview with reporters in Kano on Monday.

Gumel said, “The suspects are members of an unlawful society poised to launch unprovoked attacks on innocent members of the public.”

The street urchins were reportedly arrested at various crime-prone locations, criminal hideouts, and black spots in the metropolis, including Mazaunar Tanko, Dandishe, Kofar Dan Agundi, Kofar Mata, Filin Idi, Kofar Na’Isa, Kwanar Diso, Kukar Bulukiya, and Dorayi Babba.

During the spot raid, dangerous weapons and suspected marijuana were recovered from the suspects. Gumel emphasized that all the individuals apprehended would undergo thorough screening and profiling. Following the completion of investigations, they would be prosecuted in court.

The Commissioner of Police assured that additional sting operations would be conducted to maintain the safety of all residents in the state.
