Paul Pogba banned for four years over doping

Paul Pogba, the France World Cup champion, has received a four-year ban from football due to doping.

This verdict effectively concludes Pogba’s career, as the Juventus midfielder will turn 31 years old in March.

Pogba, who has been under suspension since last September, underwent testing in August, revealing elevated levels of testosterone, a hormone known to enhance athletes’ endurance.

The tribunal found Pogba in breach of anti-doping regulations after discovering prohibited substance “non-endogenous testosterone metabolites”, which enhance athletes’ endurance.

Subsequently, a second test sample was analyzed, resulting in the former Manchester United star receiving a four-year ban, considered one of the harshest penalties for such an offense.
