Abia State Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, urged the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to report any officer’s misconduct to the Complaint Response Unit in the Command.
The Commissioner emphasized the Command’s commitment to accountability and transparency during a courtesy visit by NANS executive members on Tuesday. He encouraged the student body to address internal challenges creatively and peacefully without resorting to violence.
CP Onwuemelie stressed the importance of NANS members upholding the law, refraining from taking matters into their own hands, and remaining law-abiding citizens.
He highlighted the significance of collaboration between the Nigerian Police and Abia State students for a safer community.
In response, NANS members, led by Prince Jacob Nwaoma, expressed gratitude to the officers and men of the Abia State Police Command for addressing past challenges. They used the visit to communicate their concerns to the CP, thanking him for the warm reception.
