Tragedy struck in the Adijah community in Ugbokpo, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State on Thursday afternoon as several individuals are feared dead and others injured following an attack by suspected herdsmen.
Reports indicate that the assailants invaded the village, situated just a few kilometers from the Otukpo-Oweto Road, and indiscriminately fired upon residents, resulting in an undisclosed number of casualties.
A resident of the community mentioned that, in the wake of the attack, frightened residents have fled to nearby villages for safety.
