NYSC deploys 1,912 corps members to Bauchi State

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has mobilized a total of 1,912 corps members to Bauchi State for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ stream 1 orientation exercise, according to Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, the NYSC coordinator in the state. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Bauchi, she provided details on the upcoming activities.

Yakubu mentioned that the registration for prospective corps members is scheduled to commence on Feb. 15 and will conclude at midnight on Feb. 18 at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, in Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

The swearing-in ceremony for the prospective corps members is set for Feb. 20, and the orientation exercise will conclude on March 6. Yakubu emphasized that admission to the camp would be granted only after rigorous verification to confirm the authenticity of the graduates.

As part of security measures, she highlighted that discreet screening of the corps members would be conducted to prevent intrusion or impersonation.

“Registration dates have been announced to the corps members and they are advised to adhere strictly to all camp rules and regulations.

“Defaulters will be sanctioned in accordance with the scheme’s extant rules,” Yakubu said.

She also reiterated that the scheme frowned at late-night journeys and urged prospective corps members to avoid it for their own safety.

Rifkatu tasked them to be punctual, and diligent as well as comply with the camp’s acceptable dress codes, adding that flouting the directive would be sanctioned.
