Zamfara: NYSC secures release of more kidnapped corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the successful liberation of kidnapped corps members through collaborative efforts with the military.

The incident, which took place in Zamfara State as the prospective corps members were en route to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Sokoto State last year, led to their abduction. With this recent rescue operation, the total number of released NYSC members now stands at five.

The NYSC emphasized that ongoing efforts are being made to secure the freedom of the remaining three individuals—comprising one female and two males—still held captive. Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press at the NYSC, stated in a release that the Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, commended the security agents for their efforts in securing the release of the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs).

He reassured that the NYSC remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Corps members at all times.
