Senator urges NEMA to investigate recent fire incidents in Ibadan

Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, has recommended that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other pertinent agencies conduct an inquiry into the recent surge of fire incidents in Oyo State. Alli made this call on Monday, responding to reports of at least four fire incidents occurring in the state over the past few days. The most recent incident took place at Sango market on Sunday.

Representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Alli urged the relevant agencies to thoroughly investigate the causes of these fire incidents in the state. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain expressed condolences to the traders at Sango Market in Ibadan, where the inferno resulted in the destruction of goods worth millions of Naira.

The lawmaker stressed the importance of swift action and support from authorities to aid the affected traders in their recovery. He called on the Oyo State Government and well-meaning individuals to provide financial assistance, rehabilitate the affected shops, and offer necessary resources to help these traders rebuild their businesses.
