President Bola Tinubu has expressed strong condemnation for the recent attacks in Ekiti State, which resulted in the deaths of two traditional rulers and the abduction of private school pupils, teachers, and a driver.

As reported by Iwitnesslive, gunmen suspected to be bandits killed the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola on Monday. Additionally, assailants targeted the Eporo-Ekiti area, kidnapping at least six pupils, teachers, and a bus driver.

In response to the mindless and brutal incidents, the President, through his spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, issued a statement pledging that the perpetrators would not escape justice. He also directed the immediate rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers.

The statement further noted that President Tinubu extended his condolences to the families and subjects of the traditional rulers, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the people of Ekiti State.

“As security of life and property is the primary responsibility of the government, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that the nation’s security architecture is being robustly fortified for better and expected outcomes,” the statement added.
