Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has assured the support of his administration in aiding security agencies to achieve success in the fight against crimes in the state.
Adeleke gave this assurance on Wednesday while receiving the new Osun Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command, Akintayo Adaralewa.
The governor also stated that his administration would continue to provide every necessary support to the command so as to improve the security of lives and property in the state.
According to a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, ASC Adeleke Kehinde, and made available to journalists in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
While expressing confidence in the ability of the new Commandant and the Corps at large, Adeleke, enjoined the new NSCDC helmsman in the state to work in synergy with other sister agencies, saying crime prevention is a joint effort of all security agencies.
Adeleke who also commended the personnel of NSCDC for being well dressed always also lauded them for being professional while discharging their duties.
Speaking earlier, the newly deployed Commandant Dr Adaralewa explained that the courtesy visit was mainly to familiarize himself with the governor and to seek the support of the government of Ọsún state to succeed in the task ahead.
He noted that Osun state is relatively peaceful, as it is one of the safest states in the country.
However, Commandant Adaralewa vowed to synergize with other security agencies to strengthen security architecture and place it in a better light.
He also promised to deal decisively with illegal miners, while promising to work assiduously in order to put an end to incessant farmers and herders’ crisis in the state.
Commandant Adaralewa also called on members of the public to support NSCDC in the fight against Criminal activities by providing necessary and useful information that could nip crimes in the bud.
