The victims, traveling in two vehicles – a Toyota Corolla and a white Highlander, were intercepted by the gunmen and forcibly taken into the bush.
A video obtained by our correspondent on Saturday depicted the assailants firing bullets at the vehicles during the attack.
As of the report’s filing, it remains unclear whether the kidnappers have made any contact with the victims’ families regarding ransom demands. Responding to the incident, personnel from the Ondo State Amotekun and the Nigerian police were deployed to track down the kidnappers.
Efforts to reach the Ondo State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful at the time of this report, as the command spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami, could not be reached by phone.
