Security Operatives in Sokoto State have shot dead two bandit and arrested three others in illela town,the headquarters of illela local government area of the state.
This happened on Tuesday as a result of exchanged of gunshots between the security patrol operatives and a syndicate of bandits in Danbar Kwannawa village in the outskirt of illela town.
The illela town is located at the east senatorial zone in the state and sharing boundary with the Niger Republic and is among some local government areas that is experiencing worst banditry activities in the state.
Local community sources revealed that the security operatives have also recovered a one motorcycle Kasae model from the bandit.
Also, gathered that the corps of the bandits have been deposit at the illela hospital while the arrested suspects and motorcycle recovered were transported to the illela Police Divisional office ,the headquarters of illela local government area of the state.
Some residents of the area commended the gallant efforts of the police and other security personnel for their resilient and courage in fighting against insecurity and other cross borders crimes in the illela/Niger republic borders communities.
The communities also urged the Sokoto State and federal government to intensify efforts by deploying more security operatives to end the scourge of the insurgents ,kidnap, rustle and human trafficking in the area.
