The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has issued a directive prohibiting all parishes and affiliated entities from inviting external preachers, speakers, or ministers for any official functions related to the church.
A memo dated January 5, 2024, and addressed to continental overseers, deputy continental overseers, assistant continental overseers, and pastors in charge of regions and provinces worldwide, quoted the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as the source of the directive. The memo, signed by Pastor Oladele A. Balogun, Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Admin), emphasized the importance of adhering to the guidelines outlined.
Referring to a prior memo dated December 14, 2023, with the reference number RCCGIADMIOAB/JPIMEMOI14/12/2023, the latest memo emphasized that any parish intending to invite a Guest Minister, Speaker, or Preacher must ensure that the individual is a recognized member of RCCG.
The memo further warned that ministers violating these directives would face severe disciplinary measures, possibly leading to their removal from ministerial duties within the Mission.
“We wish to reiterate that any Minister(s) who violate the above directives will face severe disciplinary measures and may be relieved of their ministerial duties in the Mission.
“Kindly inform all and sundry of the above directives which take immediate effect,” the memo read
The RCCG urged everyone concerned to disseminate and comply with the directives, emphasizing their immediate implementation. The church expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation and support, assuring the recipients of the General Overseer’s ongoing prayers for divine repositioning.
