An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court remanded Musa Usman in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for reportedly defiling his neighbor’s 10-year-old daughter.
Usman, residing at No. 32, Ishola Yusuf St., Iloro, Agege, Lagos State, faces a charge of defilement. Chief Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje, without taking the defendant’s plea, directed the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for guidance.
The Prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, alleged that the defendant committed the offense in December 2023 at his residence, engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with the young girl (name withheld). The charge falls under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015, which, upon conviction, carries a sentence of life imprisonment as per the criminal code.
The case is adjourned until February 6, awaiting advice from the DPP.
