Anambra CP calls for transparency as police recruitment begins

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, emphasized the imperative of transparency and professionalism in the enlistment of new officers within the police force. 

Addressing the recruitment board at the Police Headquarters in Awka, Anambra State, Adeoye underscored the significance of upholding a fair and merit-centric selection process for the recruitment of new officers in the Anambra State Police Force. 

He emphasized the necessity of transparency and professionalism to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are selected to join the force.

He said, “The recruitment process will be transparent, and updates on the progress will be communicated to the public through official channels.

“Members of the public should disregard unverified information regarding the recruitment and report any incidents of corruption or misconduct by those involved in the process.

“With the recruitment board now convened, the selection process for new officers in the Anambra State Police Force is expected to proceed impartially and transparently, ensuring that only the most capable individuals are entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state.”

Adeoye praised the board members for their commitment and stressed the pivotal role they play in crafting a competent and dependable police force. He encouraged prospective candidates to adequately prepare, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

DCP Okey Nwabufo, leading the Police team, outlined the comprehensive recruitment stages, including written exams, physical tests, medical assessments, and interviews. These steps aim to identify individuals possessing the requisite skills and character traits crucial for effective policing.

Head of the South-East PSC team, Okoli Anuli-Elfreda, lauded meticulousness in the selection process, assuring unbiased evaluation of each applicant’s suitability without favoritism.

Representing Police Affairs, Okolo Anulika, expressed gratitude for her role on the board, vowing to leverage her expertise to ensure a seamless and successful recruitment process.
