Kaduna Command: Customs generates N16.3bn in 2023

In 2023, the Kaduna Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service successfully generated an impressive revenue of N16,378,179,323.89 within its jurisdiction, as revealed by Controller Tijjani Abe during a press release on Thursday through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Muhammad Aminu.

Breaking down the figures, the Command collected N8,341,061,535.00 from import duty, N5,735,176,989.89 from excise duty, and N43,429,781.00 from fees, totaling the significant revenue amount.

Comparatively, this marked a notable increase from the previous year’s revenue of N13,432,457,630.68, reflecting a substantial growth of N2,945,721,693.21 or 21.93%.

Highlighting the achievement, Controller Abe mentioned that the Command achieved a historic milestone by surpassing a two-billion-naira collection in both November and December 2023, an unprecedented accomplishment in the Command’s history.

He credited this success to the collaborative efforts among Customs sister agencies such as the military, police, DSS, and other paramilitary units, acknowledging their robust synergy.

Additionally, Controller Abe praised the leadership of Comptroller General Bashir Adewale and his Management Team for their unwavering support, enabling the Command to fulfill its statutory duties effectively.
