ZLP suffers setback as state youth leader, vice chairman resign

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) witnessed the resignations of Abdulrauf Aseneshi Ladan, the Youth Leader, and Mallam Muhammad Egye Onyapa, the Nasarawa State Vice Chairman. Both resignations were confirmed through formal letters addressed to the party’s Chairman in the Obi ward, dated January 3rd.

Sources indicated that Ladan’s resignation took immediate effect, while Onyapa followed suit on the same day with his own resignation letter.

These departures add to the recent setbacks faced by the ZLP, following former lawmaker Musa Salihu Iyimoga’s exit from the party. Iyimoga, previously representing Doma North Constituency in the 6th Assembly, has now joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speculations suggest that the resignations of Ladan and Onyapa might indicate a larger trend, given their perceived loyalty to Iyimoga. There are strong indications hinting at their potential alignment with their former lawmaker in a show of solidarity.
