Tinubu Suspends NSIPA Chief, Halima Shehu, Three Months After Confirmation

President Bola Tinubu has taken the decision to suspend Mrs. Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator, and chief executive of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), as reported by Channels Television.

The suspension, effective immediately, comes a mere three months after her confirmation for the position by the Senate, prompting President Tinubu to instruct her replacement.

Halima Shehu had previously served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, where her expertise in banking and career contributed to the digitalization of the program. She had a notable tenure at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022.

The reasons behind President Tinubu’s decision to suspend Shehu have not been disclosed as of now. The abrupt nature of the suspension raises questions about the circumstances leading to this unexpected development in the leadership of NSIPA.
