On Friday, a multitude of individuals assembled at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in protest against the presidential intervention in the ongoing political unrest within the state. The demonstration aimed to show solidarity with Governor Siminilayi Fubara.
The protesters comprised students, youths, civil society organizations, labor unions, and members of the Hausa community in the state. They congregated at the Government House along Azikiwe Road as early as 7 am.
At the time of this report, the demonstrators were still arriving, setting up canopies at the entrance of the Government House.
