ISWAP militants perpetrated an attack at the Gubio Police Divisional Office in Borno State, resulting in the loss of one police officer’s life and the theft of a police vehicle during the assault.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, reported the incident on X on Friday. According to Zagazola, the assailants arrived in two Hilux vehicles and multiple motorcycles, initiating gunfire and launching an attack on the Police Divisional Office.
Sources verified that a police inspector bravely confronted the terrorists but tragically lost his life during the confrontation. Additionally, the militants seized an operational police vehicle before fleeing the scene.
