Breaking: Lagos clears off articulated trucks on Cele-Mile-2, Tincan road

The Lagos state government has successfully cleared articulated vehicles that were obstructing traffic and engaging in indiscriminate parking along the Cele bus stop towards the Tincan Port axis.

Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the state governor, confirmed the operation through an update shared on his official platform.

The enforcement operation, led by Olalekan Bakare Oki, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), commenced in the early hours of Friday, December 22. The operation, which began at 12:30 a.m., continued through the morning hours.

The rigorous enforcement team from LASTMA, supported by Commander Mopol 20 and the Head of the Special Intervention team, ACP Bayo Sulaiman, ensured the removal of articulated trucks that had disregarded the state government’s directive.

Despite previous unsuccessful attempts to clear the tankers and trucks from the area, Gawat emphasized that the state’s Special Adviser on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, assured the public that the enforcement would persist as a continuous effort.

Giwa had emphasized that the government’s initial directive aimed to underscore its commitment to maintaining smooth traffic flow and reducing disruptions caused by the prolonged presence of these heavy-duty vehicles in that specific location.
