The Nigeria Police have summoned Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, a former winner of Big Brother Naija, regarding an alleged incident involving her failure to return a rented wig after the agreed-upon rental period.
In recent times, a hair vendor accused Phyna of not returning a wig that was rented, even after the rental duration had lapsed. Initially refuting the claims, Phyna later acknowledged, via a video on her social media platform, that she had indeed rented the wig. She mentioned attempting to return it after being called out by the vendor, but the vendor refused to accept it.
Explaining further, Phyna stated that she chose to retain the wig due to damages she alleged the vendor caused, which she believed outweighed the wig’s price. She recounted an incident where the vendor, accompanied by police officers, visited her residence, leaving a letter after not finding her at home.
Phyna said, “Yesterday, my younger sister called me and said I’ve visitors in my house. I asked who they were and she said two policemen, the hairstylist and one woman. I asked who the woman was but she said she doesn’t know the woman.
“And they dropped a letter. Because it’s from the police I want to know what to do. It reads, ‘This is the Nigeria Police. Invitation to the police.’ They now put my name, my address. Then it continued, ‘From the DPO Nigeria Police Ogudu.’ I don’t know where Ogudu is, but I will find out.”
