The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended President Bola Tinubu for initiating the 2023 yuletide transport discount, urging increased student support for his administration.
Mr. Pedro Obi, President of NANS, expressed this appreciation in a statement released on Wednesday in Enugu, lauding President Tinubu’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of Nigerians.
It was reported that the Federal Government, led by Dele Alake, Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee on the Presidential Intervention on Public Transportation, announced plans to subsidize luxury bus fares to facilitate travel for citizens during the festive season.
Obi highlighted that this significant decision illustrated President Tinubu’s strong commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians. He applauded this proactive measure, emphasizing its role in alleviating the challenges faced by travelers during this holiday period.
“This discount undoubtedly eases the financial strain on many Nigerians, making it more feasible for them to reunite with loved ones and partake in the festivities,” he said.
