Yuletide: NSCDC deploys 1,700 personnel in Ondo

The NSCDC Ondo State Command has deployed 1700 tactical personnel to safeguard a crime-free Christmas celebration throughout the state. Olatundun Olayinka, the Commandant of NSCDC in the state, disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday in Akure.

Olayinka emphasized that this deployment aligns with the command’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful environment, especially with the expected surge in population during the festive period.

The NSCDC has strategically deployed units dedicated to counter-terrorism, anti-vandalism, and anti-human trafficking to promptly address any emergent situations. Collaborating with other security agencies, the Corps aims to ensure security in places of worship, recreational spots, markets, and malls before, during, and after the Yuletide.

The commandant also highlighted the visibility of NSCDC patrol teams along highways, offering tactical support to units positioned at identified high-risk areas.

“Our top priority is to protect lives and all critical national assets and infrastructure in and around the state.

“We shall deploy all proactive measures to ensure adequate maintenance of law and order,” he said.
