The Supreme Court, on December 19, held back its judgments in two appeals brought forth by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, and Azeez Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding the election of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Rhodes-Vivour and Adeniran contested the decisions made by the Court of Appeal in Lagos, which upheld the rulings of the election tribunal dismissing their petitions challenging Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the recent governorship election.
Presided over by Justice John Okoro, a five-member panel of the Supreme Court informed the involved parties that they would be notified when the judgments are finalized.
Present at the court session were Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Secretary to the State Government Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, and several other senior officials from the Lagos State Government.
