Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, a seasoned Nollywood actress, highlighted the mark of a genuine actor, emphasizing their openness to fully embrace all aspects of their craft, including performing on-screen kisses. She underscored that a performer who hesitates or refuses such roles isn’t embodying the essence of a “true actor.”
In an interview with TVC, Ajai-Lycett stressed the significance of distinguishing personal preferences from the demands of movie roles. She expressed that an actor’s unwillingness to engage in on-screen kisses due to personal beliefs indicates a lack of commitment to the profession.
Ajai-Lycett’s viewpoint centered on the idea that true actors should demonstrate a willingness to immerse themselves in diverse roles, irrespective of their personal reservations, to authentically portray characters on screen.
She said: “If you can’t kiss on screen, you’re not an actor, you don’t bring your personal preferences into play.”
