The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating within the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, successfully eliminated numerous terrorists at an ISWAP training camp situated in Bukar Mairam, within Borno state’s Marte local government area.
According to intelligence sources briefed by Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, the air strikes were executed on Saturday at the specified location.
Makama quoted the sources as saying, “The air strikes at Bukar Mairam were planned and executed based on intelligence reports indicating that the insurgents had established a training camp in the village and were converging in an area before departing for an attack on troops’ locations around the Lake Chad area”.
The sources said the fighter aircraft acquired and attacked the locations, neutralizing scores of the ISWAP with only a few survivors seen fleeing the area.
They also added that some of the terrorists’ logistics and other property were similarly destroyed.
