I deserve what is rightfully mine – Harrysong begs Kcee to release his royalties

Nigerian singer and instrumentalist Harrison Tare Okiri famously referred to as Harrysong, has made a plea to his former record label head, Kcee, to settle seven years’ worth of royalties owed to him.

Their fallout in 2016 was marred by controversy, leading to a rift between Harrysong and Kcee. Subsequently, Harrysong had been evading interactions with Kcee and the record label, even getting involved with the police due to an invitation from the state’s Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

However, in a social media post on Monday, Harrysong implored his fans to assist him in appealing to Kcee to release the royalties owed to him.

“I’m here to beg you all to help me beg Kingsley Okonkwo, known as Kcee to refund my money and release my songs.

“For more than 7 years now, he’s been the one collecting 100% of my royalties from all my big songs, Reggea blues, Baba for the girls, Samankwe, Better Pikin, and Ofeshe. It’s not fair.

“At least, he can take his percentage and give me what is rightfully mine. Na beg I dey beg am, I know he likes to bully, he’s the Power Mike, help me beg him, the songs are mine, he should at least be fair to give me what is rightfully mine.

“May God not let us work, and another man just be reaping our hard end sweat in Jesus name,” he wrote.
