The Zamfara State Government brought charges against Aisha Mustapha at the Unguwar Gwaza High Shari’a court, accusing her of aggravated assault against her 12-year-old stepdaughter.
Residing in Tsafe town, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Aisha appeared before the court on Friday and was subsequently remanded in Gusau prison for two weeks.
Malam Surajo Usman, the judge at the Sharia High Court, highlighted that the court’s records indicated the accused had allegedly subjected her stepdaughter to severe mistreatment, significantly impacting the child’s well-being.
The case is scheduled to resume on December 28, 2023, for further proceedings.
