Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen proudly displayed the CAF Men’s Player of the Year trophy to Napoli fans at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Saturday night.
Osimhen earned the title of African Footballer of the Year following a stellar season in which he scored 26 Serie A goals, contributing significantly to Napoli’s Scudetto victory last season. The award ceremony took place in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday night.
At 24 years old, Osimhen became the first Nigerian in 24 years to clinch this prestigious award. Accompanied by his family, the striker showcased the trophy to the club’s fans at the Stadio Maradona ahead of Napoli’s Serie A fixture against Cagliari.
Additionally, he secured the eighth position in the 2023 Men’s Ballon d’Or rankings.
