Police bust notorious armed robbery syndicate in Kano

Police in Kano State apprehended seven members of a notorious armed robbery syndicate that had been causing fear in the Kano-Katsina States area.

SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, conveyed this development in an official statement. He mentioned that the arrests followed the state Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Gumel’s initiative to root out criminal elements within the state.

The police successfully captured the mastermind behind multiple armed robbery incidents, 27-year-old Ibrahim Rabiu from KwanarUngogo Quarters, along with seven accomplices.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered various items, including two unregistered motorcycles, three Papalow swords, four cutlasses, five parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 135 pieces of exol tablets, 10 sachets of Diazepam tablets, 150 pieces of rubber solution, and 27 potwin injections.

Kiyawa noted that following the investigation’s completion, the suspects would face charges in court.
