DSS denies Sowore access to Supreme Court for Nnamdi Kanu’s judgment

The Department of State Services (DSS) refused entry to Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), to the Supreme Court premises during the hearing for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

DSS agents stationed at the court’s entrance denied Sowore access upon spotting his vehicle, stating, ‘No access for Sowore.’

Sowore, reported through X, accused the DSS operatives of being “unruly” towards him at the gate of the court.

Sowore wrote: “I tried attending the Supreme Court ruling for #FreeNnamdiKanuNow this morning but was denied access by an unruly team of @OfficialDSSNG officers stationed at the gate of the #SupremeCourtofNigeria screaming #NoAccessforSowore.

“It was shameful and this tells that the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu is an @OfficialAPCNg official position. The regime of Bola Tinubu @officialABAT is in on it.”

The Supreme Court will decide the fate of the IPOB leader, who has been detained since June 2021, today.
