Saudi, French Clubs Set Sights on Moses Simon Transfer

Nigeria’s Moses Simon has attracted interest from three Ligue 1 teams and several Saudi-based clubs as his contract with FC Nantes approaches its expiration in 2024, reports IWITNESSLIVE Sports.

Despite delivering an impressive performance in Ligue 1 this season since joining in 2020 on a four-year deal, there are no signs of a contract renewal, suggesting a potential departure. Olympique Lyonnais, Nice, and Lille are reportedly eyeing the 28-year-old forward, with Saudi Arabian clubs also expressing interest, according to Fabrizio Romano and Footmercato. Negotiations could unfold in January.

“Moses Simon, one to watch in 2024 as he’s out of contract in June. Not only OL as per @foomercato; understand also OGC Nice and Lille are interested in the Nigerian player. Saudi clubs have also asked for potential conditions of the deal,” Romano stated on X (formerly Twitter).

The Super Eagles star boasts 29 goals and 31 assists in 161 appearances for Nantes, proving his value to any prospective club eyeing his talents.

Simon has been plying his trade in Ligue 1 since the summer of 2019 when he joined Nantes on loan before the transfer was made permanent the following season.

He was linked with an exit from Nantes in the summer but eventually stayed at the club and has played a vital role for them this season. The former Gent forward has eight-goal contributions in 15 league games this season, just one less than he gathered in the whole of last season.

It remains to be seen whether his form will persuade Nantes to extend his stay at the club beyond next summer.
