On Thursday, Dayo Adeyeye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress and former Minister of Works, asserted that Nigeria would have faced a severe crisis if President Bola Tinubu hadn’t eliminated oil subsidy.
Adeyeye highlighted Tinubu’s significant efforts in winning the APC presidential primaries against considerable challenges and subsequently leading the nation after the general election. He emphasized the ongoing battle to alleviate the hardships and complexities burdening Nigerians.
As the National Chairman of South West Agenda, Adeyeye addressed the gathering in Jos where the organization, instrumental in Tinubu’s election, initiated the distribution of relief aid to supporters in Plateau State.
Adeyeye expressed concern over the extensive damage inflicted on Nigeria’s economy by past administrations, causing considerable challenges for the current government upon assuming office.
Adeyeye said, “The present government led by President Bola Tinubu is not interested in painting the last government bad but Nigeria would have grounded to a halt without fuel subsidy removal.
“Do you know that the oil we are selling today, the money has been collected a long time ago before the this administrative came on board. So, When you hear that 1.8 million barrels is sold, the money is not just there. Things are as bad as that. That is the situation as we have it but President Bola Tinubu can not say it openly”
The APC chieftain, however, assured that the president was doing everything possible to change the situation for the good of Nigerians while calling on the people to support his renewed hope agenda.
“We in SWAGA did not support his (Tinubu) election for nothing. He conquered those who wanted to stop his victory but the job is not done yet
“We did not support his election for Nigerians to suffer . We did it for him to change the trajectory of Nigeria.He has done it before and we know he will not disappoint Nigerians. Right now, he is fighting another round of battle to better the course of Nigeria .
“Mr president is not sleeping. He wants Nigerians to be patient. His eyes is everywhere .
“And that is why he is traveling up and down to see that the destruction done to Nigeria for many years is addressed Destruction has gone for many years for up to forty years.
“Tinubu is aware of what is happening in Plateau. The road is virtually bad everywhere in the country
“His plan is to make light train from Abuja to Jos
“In eight years time ,you won’t recognize Nigeria again because things would have changed drastically as he is ready to take bold decisions for the good of the people. “
