The Kwara State government has greenlit and enacted a 100% Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for nurses within the state.
Furthermore, approximately 63 nurses have been newly recruited by the state government to address the void caused by the country’s brain drain, thereby enhancing the caliber and standards of nursing care in alignment with global best practices.
This announcement was made known by Aminu Shehu and Markus Luka, the Chairman and Secretary of the Kwara State Council of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, respectively. Their statement, released in Ilorin and shared with journalists, revealed these significant strides.
The association expressed gratitude to the Executive Secretary of the state Hospital Management Bureau for their instrumental role in advocating for the fulfillment of their requests from the government.
Moreover, commendation was extended to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for authorizing and implementing the 100% CONHESS and for bolstering healthcare delivery within the state through the recruitment of additional nurses.
