Kidnappers abduct three on Ogun farm

A poultry farm in Atoyo town, Itele area of Ogun State, fell victim to an attack by at least six suspected hoodlums who reportedly abducted three workers on Saturday around 5 pm.

While the state police command confirmed the arrest of two individuals linked to the incident, the three kidnapped victims remained unrecovered at the time of this report.

According to an unnamed source in the area who said, the hoodlums initially abducted approximately five individuals present at the farm, including the owner. The attackers subsequently led the captives to a forest, confiscating their mobile phones.

Later on, the assailants released the farm owner and another person, retaining custody of the remaining three victims.

Confirming the incident via WhatsApp message to a correspondent on Monday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, categorized the event as a kidnapping case. She disclosed the arrest of two suspects linked to the crime and ongoing efforts by police officers and local hunters to locate and rescue the abducted individuals.

She said, “There were five of them that were kidnapped at the farm, but two were later released. They were the ones that identified them as suspects. The driver who came to take some eggs, one female worker, and one other are believed to be victims.

“The two victims that were released have identified the two suspects we arrested after our men, in collaboration with local hunters and other security agencies, combed the bush.”
