Thursday witnessed a harrowing incident in Ibafo, situated in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, where four individuals narrowly escaped a fatal accident involving four vehicles.
Reportedly, a truck from the Ogun State Waste Management Authority was clearing refuse along the expressway when a white Hyundai Hiace bus, bearing registration number FST388YE, collided with it from behind at high speed.
The impact led to a subsequent collision between a Toyota Sienna and another Toyota Camry, identified by registration numbers MUS398FR and JJJ806HV respectively.
The occupants of the white Toyota Hiace bus, whose identities remained unconfirmed at the time of reporting, sustained severe injuries. They were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The resultant accident caused traffic congestion in the area, prompting passers-by to assist in coordinating vehicular movements.
Efforts to contact Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency for comment, were unsuccessful as of the report’s filing.
