112 students secure first-class as FUDMA set to convocate 4,367 in Katsina

The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) is gearing up to celebrate the convocation of 4,367 students at its 7th and 8th combined convocation ceremony. 

This information was unveiled by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, during a press briefing held at the University’s senate chamber on Thursday.

Among the graduates, 112 achieved first-class honours, 1,131 secured second-class upper honours, 2,476 earned second-class lower honours, and 636 students attained third-class honours, as detailed by the Vice Chancellor.

Prof. Bichi also highlighted a significant milestone for the University, noting a record-breaking 401 postgraduate students participating in the convocation. 

This comprises 11 PhD holders, 168 academic master’s degree recipients, 75 professional master’s degree holders, and 149 individuals with postgraduate diplomas, marking the highest number since the university’s establishment.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to society, the convocation ceremony will confer honorary doctorate degrees upon three distinguished personalities. Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Governor of Katsina; Faruk Umar Faruk, the Emir of Daura; and Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi, will be honored for their remarkable societal impacts alongside celebrating the academic achievements of the graduating students.
