Reports indicated that in October, Tinubu and the People’s Democratic Party governors intervened to halt the impeachment proceedings against Fubara.
On the night of October 29, an explosion rocked the state House of Assembly, causing extensive damage to property estimated at millions of naira.
Law enforcement officers allegedly deployed tear gas at the governor during his visit to the Assembly on the morning of October 30.
The relationship between Wike and Fubara purportedly deteriorated as the threat of impeachment against the governor loomed in the Assembly.
Some have pointed fingers at Wike, a former governor of the state, alleging his involvement in orchestrating the impeachment proceedings.
