Police Arrest 18 suspected IPOB members allegedly Involved in Killing of DPO, Orderly

No fewer than 18 suspected members of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), have been arrested for allegedly involved in the murdered of the Division Police Officer and it’s orderly at Ahiara, Imo State.

The DPO and it’s orderly were gruesomely murdered by the IPOB members at Ahiara junction, Ahiazu-Mbaise Local Government Area have been arrested by the operatives of Imo State Police Command in a coordinated operation.

It was reported that some gunmen suspected to be IPOB members ambushed the Ahiazu-Mbaise DPO and other three inspectors which led to the death of the DPO and an inspector after a serious gun duel at BOEK fuel station in the early hours of Tuesday.

However, a swift response of tactical police led by CP Aboki Danjuma thwarted the convergence of the assailants with a hot chase that led to various degrees of gunshot injuries on the assailants which made them abandon their operational motorcycles.

Meanwhile, the swift response of the military led by Brigade Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, resulted in an intense combing of the area which yielded in the arrest of the 18 suspected IPOB members while the investigation is ongoing.
