Lateef Adedimeji moved to tears as he bags honorary doctorate degree

Lateef Adedimeji, the renowned Nollywood star, received an honorary doctorate from Estam University, Benin, Cotonou, eliciting heartfelt congratulations. 

Sharing his joyous milestone with fans and peers, the actor conveyed his emotional state when adorned with the ceremonial robe. 

Adedimeji posted a video capturing the modest ceremony, donning a graduation gown and exchanging greetings with the individual presenting his certificate. He also shared snapshots alongside esteemed university officials.

In his remarks, the actor—known for his recent discourse on personal growth—expressed his disinterest in seeking fame, emphasizing his desire for contentment through his craft while aiming to motivate others. 

He expressed astonishment at obtaining a Philosophy in Art and Culture degree without facing exams, invigilators, or enduring late-night study sessions.

“I was moved to tears as I got adorned in this beautiful robe.

“I have never been interested in fame, I just wanted to be happy with my craft and the lives that I inspire.

“ladies and gentlemen, today, I have a new title, one I couldn’t have imagined would come without me facing invigilators and keeping late nights to study…

“The irony is really interesting. I burn midnight candles to master my lines and perfect my expressions, now I’m getting rewarded with what could have been if I did it for classroom reasons.

“I humbly reintroduce myself, I AM DR. ABDULLATEEF ADEDIMEJI ADETOLA, Doctor of Philosophy in Art and Culture from Estam University, Benin”.
