Chelsea Face Delay in Securing Top Transfer Targets

Chelsea are facing a struggle in their quest to sign a top centre-forward in the January transfer window, the Daily Mirror reports.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Brentford forward Ivan Toney are two players that the Blues have in their sights for a mid-season transfer, but neither is likely to be made available.
Serie A champions Napoli have made it clear that they will not consider letting Nigeria international Osimhen leave this season, with his six goals in nine league games so far this season helping them into the top four with a third of the season played.
Brentford are also expected to refuse any offers for Toney, who returns to action following his ban for gambling activity in mid-January. He will come back while teammates Bryan Mbuemo and Yoanne Wissa are away at the Africa Cup of Nations, so the likelihood of Brentford being willing to let him go is low.
Chelsea may have to either reassess their mid-season targets or be patient and wait until the summer.
