Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Boca Juniors defender Valentin Barco, who they plan to immediately send out on loan, The Sun reports.
Barco, 19, has attracted plenty of attention in Europe for his performances at left-back for Boca, most recently in the Copa Libertadores final.
Brighton & Hove Albion have also been tracking the teenager, but City look favourites to sign him in January for a fee worth up to £13m.
The Sun reports that the Premier League champions would like to immediately loan him to Championship club Leicester City who are managed by Enzo Maresca, who left his role on Man City’s to took charge at the Foxes in the summer.
