Foundation gifts 100 widows cash, food items

The Merciful Heartbeat of God Foundation, a local charity group, extended aid to over 100 widows in Lagos this Sunday, offering both cash and essential food items to alleviate the prevailing economic difficulties.

According to our correspondent’s report, each of the 100 widows received N5,000 in cash alongside relief packages comprising rice, beans, garri, onions, and other essential provisions. This charitable event was orchestrated by Ifeanyi Obianinwa, the founder of the foundation.

Moreover, an extra 20 widows were gifted bags containing supplies specifically aimed at assisting them in managing the current economic hardships they face.

Obianinwa expressed that the initiative was born from witnessing the struggles of widows enduring severe hardship. He affirmed the foundation’s commitment to regular philanthropic endeavors, aiming to support not only widows but also orphans, the ill, and the underprivileged in the community.

“God opened my eyes to see the suffering of the widows especially in a hash economy, couples living together are finding it difficult to feed their homes talkless of the widows.

“So I was inspired by God to see how we can be putting smiles to the faces of the widows in whichever little way we can, through this Merciful Heartbeat of God Caring Foundation,” he said.

Widow beneficiary Rachael Obiefuna thanked the foundation profusely for the timely relief.

“In this difficult time, someone remembered us,” she noted.

Obianinwa added, “We have plans that this kind of event will be a continuous thing, it will be happening from time to time and not only for the widows.

“This foundation has plans for the orphans, the less privileged, the sick, and the helpless ones in our society, as time goes on, we shall be announcing each event as it comes.”
