Afrobeats sensation Olaitan Abdulrahman Ikufioriji, popularly known as Oxlade, emphasized that his main motivation for collaborating on a song isn’t solely money-driven; rather, he prioritizes a genuine connection with the music and the artist.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, he highlighted the importance of resonance and connection with the music before considering a feature.
Oxlade also mentioned the meaningful relationship he’s established with musician Darkovibes, illustrating that their connection goes beyond just making music together.
“Me and Darkovibes now go beyond music. After the music, the human comes in,” he said.
He also added that he does not focus on money when doing features.
However, he admitted that sometimes it is just right that he survives on his full-time job, which is doing music.
“I don’t do features for money. I feel like the quality of the music and the person surpasses any networth. But the game is the game and Daddy and Mommy gotta eat.”
