The Akwa Ibom Police have apprehended a suspect thought to be linked to the killing of a businesswoman, Mrs. Juliana Dimaka, based in Eket.
Mrs. Dimaka, the proprietor of Testimony Supermarket on Grace Bill Street in Eket, was reportedly strangled to death at her residence around 8:00 p.m. on October 17th.
A credible source at the Eket Divisional Police Station, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the suspect’s arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Eket.
The source revealed that investigative detectives from the Akwa Ibom Command, probing the murder, tracked down the suspect in Port Harcourt, River State, where he had fled to avoid capture.
The suspect was eventually found hiding in an apartment belonging to a friend, as per the source.
“We traced and tracked the culprit to Port Harcourt in Rivers State and arrested him and took him to Ikot Akpanbia in Uyo,” he said.
When contacted, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP MacDon Odiko, said, “I am not confirming anything to you until I’m able to get information on the matter.
“It will take me time and I have a lot on my table now, but if you have any information, send it to me, so that I can start digging.”
