Just In: JUSUN declares indefinite strike in Osun

The Osun State Chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has initiated an indefinite industrial action effective immediately.

The strike, announced on Wednesday by the state’s JUSUN chairman, Oluwagbenga Olakunle Eludire, follows protests held on Monday and Tuesday by Osun JUSUN members.

These protests were sparked by allegations of maladministration against the embattled Osun Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo.

JUSUN members have accused Justice Adepele Ojo of unjustly persecuting certain staff members, withholding their entitlements, such as the restoration of training exercises, unpaid wardrobe allowances dating from 2021 to 2023, and the failure to reinstate judiciary staff in the state who were suspended by Justice Adepele Ojo.

“Regularisation and promotion exercise without further delay should be effected.

“Also other benefits that members of JUSUN are entitled to should be effected without further delays.”

Eludire directed all Judiciary workers in the state to stay away from the courts and their offices and withdraw their services.
