In light of the recent Hajj Pilgrimage Rules introduced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, enabling all 2024 Intending Pilgrims Countries to initiate their payments, Kano State appears to be encountering delays in readiness, with only 40 days remaining until the official payment portals close.
Alhaji Abba Danbatta, the immediate past Executive Secretary of Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, expressed his concerns regarding the inadequate progress, noting that fewer than 300 intending pilgrims from the state have completed their payments.
Addressing reporters in Kano on Monday, Danbatta urged the National Hajj Commission and state pilgrims boards to conduct extensive awareness campaigns regarding the methods and deadlines for Hajj fare payments.
“It remains only 40 days left for the closure of the payment of Hajj fares, in Kano those who have paid are not many. I think adequate enlightenment would help immensely in ensuring that the set objectives were being achieved,” he said.
