No student’ll drop out of school under my administration- Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu is firmly dedicated to ensuring that no student will be forced to drop out of tertiary institutions due to financial constraints.

He has pledged his administration’s commitment towards providing educational institutions with the necessary resources they require to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

During the 33rd convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State on Saturday, Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced by the education sector and highlighted his government’s efforts in supporting students through initiatives such as signing into law the Student Loan Bill shortly after his inauguration.

Represented at the ceremony by Professor King-David Terna Yawe of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Tinubu reaffirmed his government’s responsibility towards ensuring that educational institutions receive sufficient resources for optimal performance.

According to him: “My administration will not shirk its responsibilities in this area. We will guarantee that educational institutions receive adequate resources needed for them to carry out their statutory functions.”
He added: “As evidence of my commitment, one of my first actions as President was signing into law The Student Loan Bill which puts our words into action. Under my leadership and manifesto, no student shall be compelled to drop out from school due to an inability to pay tuition fees.”
